New Zealand - Week No. 1 - Northern Island

We are in New Zealand for one week now and I have to say it's the best country I've ever been to. Everything is just so beautiful and everyone is so nice. I love it!

So here are some impressions of the places we have been to. Words can't describe what we have seen.

Far North

2 hours hiking to the foot of Mount Doom - Lord of the Rings final mountain

2 more hours more climbing than hiking to the op is more than worth it!

But it was a hard way



We climbed more than 1300 metres in height! Now we can touch the clouds

The walk along the summit is just awsome

Absolutely insane! Sadly we have no ring to throw in there :D

The hike back was way faster but at the end of the day we were so done!

 Waitamo Glow-worm Caves 

The entrance of the cave, hidden in the forest

On the top you see the webs of the worms hanging from the ceiling

The cave was just beautiful and the glow worms were magic. I sadly couldn't take a photo of them

Afterwards we got some delicious tea :)

West Coast - Black Sand Beaches

We randomly found a black sand beach as we drove along the east coast and had the best sunrise in my life at the lonely beach with stunning coastlines!

Mount Edmond

Mount Edmond or Mount Taranaki  is so fascinating because it's just one mountain surrounded by flat land and the sea. A really unique view.

In the night we met Annemoon and Lara again with whom we made the Tongariro Crossing. We had some drinks in the nice Library Bar where Allice is working. We met her and her friends on a campground in Taupo. The world is small :D

 As you see we had a great time here in New Zealand and that was just the first week! I think I've never seen so much stunning places in such a short time. Thanks to Tom who sold us his car in Auckland, which is by the way not a city to go, all the cool people I met and of course Katrin and Sven my lovely travelmates :) I didn't write too much text in this post because I just can't find the right words to describe it. And it happened so much that it took ages to write everything down. so I hope you enjoyed the pictures and everyone is doing well :0
